I designed and built the Topic Rundown Graphic for Desus and Mero’s weekly show, for use on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The brief was to create a graphic that was a call-out to the New York subway LED graphics that we know and love as it would be on-brand for the series with its creators representing The Bronx!
Began by looking at various images as references
Process of image editing, a touch of matte painting and the final result!
Next, I created a grid-based LED font that our social media team would be able to use for this. This was done by closely referencing an image I found of LED signage letters, and changing the letters from a 5x8 grid to a 5x7 one. The finished EPS files were done on Illustrator and uploaded to Icomoon, generating the font for us to use.
We’re glad it was well-received on social media!
